What I take on

Mode 01 — Build it

You already have designs or a spec.

Hand them over and I build them faithfully — responsive, accessible, deployed. This is how FHF, NC Partners and Digit AG ran.

Mode 02 — Run it A to Z

You have an objective and no design yet.

I take the project from scope and art direction through build, launch and SEO — one point of contact. This is how SWSD ran.

My priority is to create genuine value for your business, whether that's through better technology, clearer strategy, stronger performance or simply making smarter decisions about where to invest. If something won't add enough value, I'll tell you — including the parts you don't need to pay me for.

A

Scope & direction

Project scopes and timelines, interactive mock-ups, wireframes, branding and art direction — settled before a line of code is written, so the build has something to be right about.

B

Sites & applications

React and FastAPI builds, custom CMS features, API integrations and multilingual support. Architecture through to deployment, working directly with stakeholders.

C

Performance & SEO

Technical SEO, performance optimisation, analytics and Search Console implementation — so the thing that got built actually gets found and stays fast.

D

After launch

Sites do not stop the day they go live. Updates, security patches, backups, new pages and features, and a human who answers when something breaks — monthly retainer or ad-hoc, whichever suits.

How it runs

Five steps, in this order, every time. You always know which one we are in and what lands at the end of it.

Step 01

Scope

We agree what the thing is, what it costs and when it lands.

Written scope, timeline and milestones before anything else — so there is a document to hold both of us to, and no invoice ever surprises you.

Written scopeFixed quoteMilestone dates
Scope — Scope document / project board
Step 02

Art direction

Wireframes, type, colour, motion language — then an interactive mock-up.

Design and direction are owned in-house, so there is no handoff gap between the look and the build. If you already have Figma designs, this step is yours and I go straight to build.

Step 03

Build

React and FastAPI, AI-assisted from prototype to production.

You see working software early and often, not screenshots — deployed to a staging URL you can open on your phone, with a standing weekly point of contact.

Staging URLWeekly check-inSource you own

Step 04

Launch

Deploy, wire up analytics and Search Console, hand over documentation.

A launch checklist you can see: redirects, meta, sitemap, tracking, backups. Nothing goes live on a Friday afternoon.

Step 05
New service

After deployment

A support window while it beds in — then ongoing maintenance for as long as you want it.

Updates and security patches, backups, performance and SEO passes once real traffic shows what needs attention, and new pages or features as the business moves. Monthly retainer or ad-hoc — and a human who answers when something breaks.

Who you'd be working with

Shaun Williams — founder, Atelier Williams Studio

I'm Shaun Williams — a senior full-stack developer and business consultant based in Montpellier, working in English and French with clients across France, the UK and internationally.

My background extends well beyond software. Before moving fully into development, I spent around a decade in client, supplier and commercial management, including four years with Rolls-Royce, alongside higher education in business and commerce in England.

That experience still shapes the way I work today: understanding the commercial objective first, defining the right scope, managing expectations clearly and taking ownership when priorities change.

Technically, my core stack is React and FastAPI, with a strong focus on performance, technical SEO, maintainability and interfaces designed to work reliably in the real world — not just look good at launch.

Alongside client work, I'm the founder and CEO of SWSD Music Production, an independent music project supporting charitable causes, particularly in the field of mental health. I apply strategy, creative direction and technology to continuously develop and improve the project, strengthen its reach and impact, and ultimately better support the charitable causes at the heart of its mission.
